Today you will perform the group discussion.  We will get started as quickly as we can.

For those who are not here, don't forget that you will have to make this up with a speech on the topic.

Have a great Thanksgiving Break!

Group Discussion
Today you will prepare for the group discussion tomorrow.
Today is the last day to get ready for your group discussion.
Tomorrow's discussion will start at the beginning of class time.
If you are not here, you will be required to give a three minute speech on the topic to make up the grade.
Remember that you need to have two cited facts that are presented during the discussion.
We have gone over the rubric several times, but I suggest you take another look at it.
You should probably all meet today to prepare.

Interview Questions
Today you will write questions for an interview and read L.O. 1 from chapter 9 of the Comm book.

As you can see, I am not here today.  Because I know you will miss me so much, I give you some work to take your mind off of your deep, burning sadness.

* First, you will write two example questions for each of the five questions types that we discussed on Friday: primary, neutral, open, leading, and closed questions.
That makes ten total questions, math majors!
Use bold text to head a section of questions.  It should look something like this:
--------------------------------
Open Questions:
What do you think about my outfit?
What kind of person do you see yourself as?

Leading Questions:
What is your opinion of that terrible new Miley Cyrus song?
Tell me how much you hate Miley Cyrus.
--------------------------------
Type these questions in a doc titled "Example Interview Questions."  Make sure you put this doc in your student folder so that I can give you credit for it!
This assignment is worth 10/10 in the homework category.  You will lose questions for questions that do not follow the description of their categories.

* Next, read through L.O. 1 (the first section) of chapter 9 in the Comm book.  We will be discussing this tomorrow, and, as some of you know, I love giving pop quizzes on reading that I don't think you will do.

Tomorrow we will discuss chapter 9 and the questions that you wrote, so use your time wisely today and get everything done.  Reminder - I love pop quizzes.  I don't know why I brought it up again.  I just love them so much that I thought I would talk about them.
